Hey there! This is Snitch from theravenclawportal, sorry about that, but when the portal help is empty, it usually means no one's inside anyway. And there are really times when it's empty, and you just probably had bad timing. Still come back if you please though! And nice blog you have here btw, so I'm following while I'm here.
Hi! Thank you!
Being the kind of person I am, I don’t think I can stop ‘til I figure the answer out. :P And I’m too curious to see what’s inside to let it go. :D Guess I’m really meant for Ravenclaw huh? :P
While I am happy that Pottermore has finally sent me the email, right now I am frustrated with brewing potions. :[ it isn’t easy to pick up the ingredients and put them in the cauldron so I always run out of time! Grrrr. I hope they do something about it, am definitely gonna give some feedback.
Somewhere hidden among the several women who make up one Gemini female is a romantic one - one who is capable of intense passion, if you can manage to make the mental, spiritual and physical blending complete… One Gemini girl equals several women.
“People say, ‘I’m going to sleep now,’ as if it were nothing. But it’s really a bizarre activity. ‘For the next several hours, while the sun is gone, I’m going to become unconscious, temporarily losing command over everything I know and understand. When the sun returns, I will resume my life. If you didn’t know what sleep was, and you had only seen it in a science fiction movie, you would think it was weird and tell all your friends about the movie you’d seen. They had these people, you know? And they would walk around all day and be OK? And then, once a day, usually after dark, they would lie down on these special platforms and become unconscious. They would stop functioning almost completely, except deep in their minds they would have adventures and experiences that were completely impossible in real life. As they lay there, completely vulnerable to their enemies, their only movements were to occasionally shift from one position to another; or, if one of the ‘mind adventures’ got too real, they would sit up and scream and be glad they weren’t unconscious anymore. Then they would drink a lot of coffee. So, next time you see someone sleeping, make believe you’re in a science fiction movie. And whisper, ‘The creature is regenerating itself.”—
“The teaching of my Church is that I must respect the belief of other religions even if I do not agree with them. That is how Catholics and non-Catholics can live together in harmony. The alternative which, God forbid, is the restoration of the Inquisition.”— Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas S. J.
“Recover your stars…We need to be stargazers once more, to be idealistic again. We need to remember when we were more intense about making a difference in the lives of people, when we were more willing to make sacrifices for the principles we held dear, when we looked at the broken world and desired more ardently to take part in its healing, wanting to make a dent on structures of sin and injustice. Gaze at the stars once more and rekindle your fire.”—Fr. Jojo Magadia (via inshortsupply)
One might think with all the changes Facebook made this past week that we are and will be over-sharing to the point of ad nauseam. With the new Facebook Timeline profile, literally your life is out there for the world to see. If you don’t have the new Timeline profile yet, you can get it here. My philosophy is though, you can only see what I let you see; meaning if you don’t want it to be public, don’t post it. Just my .02 cents.
I think some people are making hasty conclusions about me based on the stuff I post here on my tumblr. I probably shouldn’t be reminding people that these are just bits and pieces and it’s probably not enough for anyone to make a conclusion on what kind of person I am. Heck, I shouldn’t even be explaining myself here.
But I just wanted to let people know that I do NOT hate religion, nor the people who subscribe to any form of it.
I think, for some people, religion could be good. Subscription to a religion could actually be a good guidance for some to be better people. However, I do not think subscription to it is necessary for a person to become a good person. I know people who consider themselves atheists (meaning they do not believe in a Supreme Being) who are infinitely better and more decent than some of the people I know who are religious.
What I’m trying to say is, as long as a person promotes the well-being of him/herself as well as those of the people around (and the world we live in), I do not care whether said person subscribes to whatever religion or not.
Whether or not you are religious, the more important thing for me is the respect with which you treat others who don’t have the same belief as yours.
A young preacher started to shout about heaven, souls and hell to passers by. I decided to talk to him a bit. I asked him how he knew what he believed was true. He tried to shout his answers back at me (so others could hear) but I reminded him of the following:
Matthew 6 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
While religion could guide some to be better people, oftentimes it creates fanatics like this who are too deluded to even think straight. They twist everything such that their reasoning is often, well, unreasonable. haha.
“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’”—Isaac Asimov (via jacobjoaquin)
